Detailed Description of Budget
Items
and Other Programs for 2008-
2009
1. Art – Purchases for our Art classes.
Additional supplies such as clay, glue,
paints and framing for the Art
Gallery in the main halls.
2. Assemblies – Provide for different
assemblies.
3. Christmas Wish List – A holiday
program where students and parents have
the opportunity to select ornaments that
correspond with teachers’ wish lists for
their classrooms.
4. Community Chest – A monetary
donation to Brimfield Community
Cupboard compliments the hundreds of
canned goods that our students collect.
We also contribute to charity, families in
need, and scholarship funds.
5. Computers/Audio/Visual – Provide
electronic equipment on an as need basis
to classrooms and media center.
6. Computer Supplies – Provide
software, ink cartridges and accessories
as needed.
7. Field Day – This is an annual event
usually held during the last week of
school. It is a fun day for the students
with a variety of games, craft projects,
face painting and treats.
8. Field Trips – BPC pays for
transportation for two field trips per
grade level per year.
9. Future Problem Solvers – This
program builds and enhances students’
problem solving and critical thinking
skills, meeting deadlines and developing
team work through a series of three
topics given to them in this yearly winter
competition.
10. Gym – Purchases for our physical
education department with items like
balls, ropes, music and mats.
11. Library – Provides books, magazines,
carts and listening stations.
12. Mini Courses – This is a program that
allows 5th grade students to take unique
classes in areas like candy making, cooking,
carpentry, even bowling.
13. Misc. – Postage, office supplies and
check printing.
14. Music – Provides printed music, small
instruments, CDs.
15. Right to Read – This spring event
encourages reading and writing by offering
a variety of activities and speakers related
to a fun and kid-friendly theme.
16. Special Projects – This fund is set
aside for special items or programs that
are not already budgeted.
17. Staff Appreciation – Provides a
year end luncheon for our hardworking and
dedicated teachers and staff.
18. Student Recognition – Provides
rewards for students each month that meet
criteria related to character education.
Sponsors a fond farewell to our fifth
grade students with cookies and punch. Also
used regularly for Honor Roll Certificates
and Spelling Bee Trophies.
19. Supply Store – The store is open to
children, parents and teachers on
Wednesday and Friday from 8:45-9:00a.m.
It is a non-profit store where students can
get most school supplies that they may need.
20. Volunteer Program – Volunteer
program is a valuable program where BPC
places parent volunteers with teachers in
need of copying, tutoring or typing. Thanks
to huge corps of willing participants,
parents also send in materials, food and
paper products to classrooms throughout
the year for specific activities and holiday
parties.
